I have a ton of lovely ideas for new supplies and inspiring additions for your hand crafted projects and creations for this New Year! Starting with these gorgeous funky charms, which I am offering in sets of 4.
Each design has been hand drawn,using permanent pigments . I then cut them,make a hole to ease of attachment to all kinds of projects and shrink them down. Each is between 1cm and 2cm in size once complete and about 2mm thick .
Very tough and durable for jewellery designing and also fantastic for journalling and collage style projects. I have been in the process of searching for a new place to live as we need to downsize since #1 daughter left,so updates may be a little sporadic for a while.
I'll do my very very best!
In the meantime,I will at least try to share a photo or two for your enjoyment!
This one isn't remotely artistic and was taken off a phone,after a rainstorm,right after the perfect hairdo was achieved, but I'll share it anyways, as,for me at least-it's a massive deal having worn very long,big hair for many years ....brrr! I will need some new scarves to keep my neck warm this year,but apart from that,I'm still re-adjusting, but I definitely like it!!

I am so delighted to be offering this new trio of paintings for sale this month! 'Love Peace and Harmony' are a series of three paintings,linked as a trio via rope and eyelets-what a fabulous idea, I couldn't wait to get working on ideas when I saw this beautiful canvas style! each individual canvas measures approx 8" square and the ropes that combine the pieces can be adjusted via toggles on the back. I have displayed them without a little over an inch inbetween each work on the photos, but they can be closer or further apart if preferred.
This delightful set combines a mixture of media including pastels and collage, layered with gesso and acrylic paints. The finish is attractively textural and each piece has been given a double coat of clear gloss artist's varnish for a gorgeous finish. She is entitled 'SPIRITED' and is bedecked with mementoes and collectibles including vintage buttons,handmade tags,beautiful handmade flowers and wonderful lace and ribbon embellishments.

A flower is tucked into her hat and her hair is hand dyed by me. I have also designed and created her face on soft cotton fabric ( colours are permanent and will not fade).... I do hope to find her a good home :)

Stunning mixed media Art Doll created from my own blend of hand dyed and handpainted fabrics, along with a smattering of embroidery,inks,gorgeous fibers and beads.
Her wings are made from hand dyed silk fibers and are lightly wired to hold their delicately tattered shape.

She wears a bodice and pointy bootees of hand printed Indian muslin and her skirts have been dyed and stitched with silk threads and a sprinkling of beads. Beneath this she also wears bloomers with a pearl and lace trim.
She wears a tiny pearl heart on her chest and a set of tiny charm bracelets at her wrist.

This delightful fairy doll sits permanently in her contemplative seated position shyly peeking at the world . She is approximately 10" tall from seat to head.
On top of her beautiful locks she wears a handmade flower and feather headdress.
A wonderful and unique addition to any art collection.

Her tail is stiffened and wired,and folds up to protect all her jewels and embellishments (which include beads,fibers and a hand made silk flower in her hair),so the book can be stored in a standard bookcase.
Inside is a sprinkling of sketches and quotes/phases along with handmade tags and pages of printed designs from my own hand cut stamps all with an oceanic/shell theme.
When closed the book measures approximately 7" x 12" and it is signed on the back cover . All the inks and paints used in this piece are fixed or permanent.
Truly a very special piece of work and an absolute pleasure to create!

Had to share these gorgeous pics today-I rescued this little darling from the jaws of death ( in the shape of my kitten! ) yesterday. He wasn't injured at all, but sadly didn;t make it as he was simply too young and unable to fly, we guess he fell from the nest and the kitten picked him up.
I did my best, poor fellow and we were all sad to see he didn't make it. An artist friend of mine had already been in touch and asked to use my photos for a painting she would like to do-that will be extra special now after sharing a day of our lives with this fragile fledgling, I sure hope his brothers and sisters fare better! :)

This a mixed media painting on a fabulous wood block which I found early this year whilst beach-combing and lugged home as it was crying out to me for some sort of creative decoration!
After waiting several months to be sure I had thoroughly dried the wood out, here it finally is!
Wood block measures approximately 7" square and 2" deep. I have sanded,primed and gessoed the painted surface so the piece will hold and it has been finished with light gloss varnish to really make the colours sing. The remaining sides have been left natural, just as I found it, as this is part of the lovely sea-worn character of the wood and that was a part of the appeal to me. I hope you agree!
Currently available for sale, I am only able to mail this to the UK due to the weight, it would make a fab,chunky,funky piece for your coffee table!Please feel free to comment here if you would like more info on purchasing this piece.

Nature Paintings , New Series

One of the projects keeping me busy this year is a new series of paintings inspired by plants and seeds. I love the washed out colours and crackly,fragile character of cow parsley at the end of a dry summer, these are one of my favourite things to photograph and paint, hope you like it! This mixed media piece is on block gallery-wrapped canvas and measure 20cm x 30cm x 4cm . Sides are painted black so no need for a frame.

Welcome to ' Candy ', a new painting recently completed on 6" x 12" gallery-wrapped block canvas. Sides are painted pink as part of the piece so a frame is not needed. Finished with a light gloss varnish, this piece is currently available for sale-isn't she cute ( and a little mischievous perhaps?)?!

This book measures (approx) 4" x 6" and is made from fabric which has been primed and painted.
I have then included artworks which have been added using permanent ink,paints and colour pigments.
The words inside reads 'come and join me,ride the breeze,over the mountains-we sparkle and scatter on the wind-' and are accompanied by a flow of dream images,finishing with a beautiful hand-pressed pansy flower, which has been carefully sealed to preserve.
The book folds concertina style and ties neatly closed with a ribbon and the outer cover is also hand decorated with designs too.
