This mixed media canvas painting is entitled 'Memories' , measures 10" x 10" x 1+ 1/2" . The work is lightly glazed with a soft gloss artist's varnish to seal and protect. Sides are fully painted in a soft matt black as part of the work so a frame is not necessary. A very sweet piece which would look adorable with any decor,vintage or contemporary. Sorry for the terrible cat/mouse pun but I would like to introduce Tamika, my new studio assistant...she isn't very helpful so far, but has taken over and found herself a cosy bed in my fabric storage-that's when she isn't busy climbing my legs and trying to grab my fingers as I type....a lot more training needed I think! :)

Hand painted using specialised lithographic pigments, which are then heat-fixed at high temperature, so no chance of fading or smudging onto heavyweight cotton canvas, this design was then given extra texture with a touch of free embroidery, backed with a fresh piece of canvas and a pin attached ( with safety clasp.) Oh I so love this new piece! Fabric art folding book entitled 'Happy The Feeling' and crammed with lots of whimsical illustrations and delicious quotes (from Wordworth,mainly) The book folds neatly closed and ties with black ribbon. spine is further embellished with gorgeous fluffy fibers. Fantastically funky wristwarmer style fingerless gloves made from cotton jersey pieces from a mix of new and clean, recycled fabric. Indulge me today in a 'proud mum' moment if you please...I took time out last week for a very special costuming project- my youngest daughter ( autumn fairy) and her friend (winter fairy) took part in the Truro Carnival. I had to share these photos, they both looked so lovely and walked proudly in the parade, it was wonderful to see....oh, and they got FIRST PRIZE of course! I guess I can take a little credit for that? :) After the prize giving they were asked to pose for several local newspapers...initially awkward they soon got over the embarrassment and were soon lapping up the attention in true paparazzi style!!

Aw, my poor neglected little blog....I spent all that time re-vamping you with a funky look last week and then abandoned you for days!! Pics here of some of my new ACEO designs-more available in my store PLEASE CLICK HERE I have been a little quiet here as we took off for an end-of-summer adventure to Thorpe Park in Surrey.... I never rode a rollercoaster before, there is nothing like that in Cornwall at all. WOW!!!!I loved it , what an experience! THANK YOU to my two lovely daughters for a great weekend, for screaming with me and being so totally game for an awesome and exciting time! xx :)
