beautiful.....

simply beautiful....inspirational moment which had to be shared!
I am sure my excitement far exceeds average considering this is just one single bloom,but this morning this was just a bud and I never grew irises before! Have nurtured this from a bulb,fed, watered and surrounded by salt and used coffee grinds to deter slugs ( not completely successful for some of them but I don't want to use pellets as we have both hedgehogs and badgers regularly in the garden at night!)
Ah well, you may not all understand my over-excitement but all CAN enjoy the elegance of this stunning bloom!
There may well be some irises appearing in my paintings before long.... :)
