I woke today at stupidly-early-o'clock and decided in my wisdom that it was the perfect time to 'treat' myself with a really demanding yoga workout-fantastic!-although I am now faced with a very long and DARK day, (even the studio lights seem dull in this greyness) and it's feeling a little hard to keep the energy going now... Time to chase away these dull winter days and check out all the scrummy flower rings available in my store HERE -add a splash of gorgeousness to brighten up YOUR day!

Today is dandelion study-day :) Preparation for a private commission, I will be including dandelion heads in a painting as requested-these are gorgeous to draw,I will share the sketchbook efforts in following posts, in the meantime,enjoy my photos of this one-I thought they turned out rather well and will be keeping them for future reference for sure!

This is entitled 'POSSIBILITIES' and measures 4" x 8" x 1.5" on block gallery wrapped canvas ( staple free, deep sides). Rich,warm and refreshing work,which include vintage image,ink,delicate seashells from my personal collection,graphite,paints,lace,collage,oils and glazes. Sides are also painted black and so ready to be hung without the need for a frame. The work has been lightly matt varnished and is signed,titled and dated on the reverse. This is a mixed media painting on block gallery wrapped canvas, measuring 6" x 12". A lovely dreamy piece, she is entitled 'Enchanted Rose' and is finished in a light gloss artist's varnish to complete. Sides are fully painted so ready to be hung without the need for a frame. This painting is entitled 'Enchanted Rose' and will be finished very shortly! I have so enjoyed crating this piece, especially after a break from painting for a week or two as I have been hot at the sewing machine working on Autumn/Winter stock! I have also begun work on a new commissioned piece this week-further updates and 'in progress shots to follow soon!

This album was created using fabrics and papers with stitchery and vintage image embellishments. The style is very much grunge/shabby chic,with layers of yummy fabrics and papers,raw and torn edges and uncut threads-do not assume,however that the style means it is loosely stitched! It is firmly finished,and whilst designed to fray,the edges have been finished to prevent too much unravelling-it is very much designed to be handled! There are eight pages, plus the inside of each cover is also lavishly embellished. Entitled simply 'Love'( title is embroidered) this cute piece of textile art is filled with scrummy little tags,handmade using papers,beads,fibers,vellums and all manner of stitch and fabrics,tucked into pockets,the front cover is also embellished with one of my handmade flowers . The set posted below is now sold-but not to worry, I have just in time completed this lovely new set of five (5) altered art style collaged and painted wooden blocks. In a previous life these were traditional wooden children's building blocks.They vary in size,the largest being about 2" square. Each block has been sanded, painted, collaged and decorated. Together they create an interactive sculpture which can be arranged in lots of ways either piled or flat,or to make the words 'FOLLOW YOUR DREAM', or simply displayed to show off your favourite sides! Very effective! A totally original work this cannot be repeated and is strictly one of a kind. I am delighted to be offering for sale this lovely fabric art album. It is filled with pockets and tags of handmade textile art goodies. Entitled 'Sew Good' , the front cover is embellished with a pocket containing a tag inside embroidered with the book title.
