Not flowing as comfortably as I would like do to some distractions and breaks between these, but there is potential for further work from these, the bottom drawing in particular.

This is the second in a series of aceos with a marine/beachcombing theme (one of my favourite pastimes! I had the most fortunate opportunity via an artist friend recently, to attend a live drawing class within a course she is following on a sort of casual 'drop-in' basis as there were enough spaces available-it's a discipline one can never have enough of and finding good models willing to pose is no easy task on a budget! This is one of the resulting sketches, worked in about 20 minutes(with a couple of false starts!) using conte crayon, chalk and charcoal on tinted paper. The model was fantastic and after quite a intense 2 hours of practising I felt really focussed and inspired to do more-I hope the opportunity comes again soon!

As an artist, one of the most important tools is your sketchbook! Some i have seen are neatly filed and organised, with a separate area for written notes, ideas and clippings. MINE however is NOT neat, but that is just how I like it! As much as I love to begin working in a fresh new sketchpad,I feel far more attuned to it once it has gained a collection of scribbles, staples, coffee rings etc-all the imprints of the experiences that my book and I have shared! Here is my first post of a sketchpad view. I have added a soft pink frame to the photo, as I liked the 'faraway' look to her, but other than that,it is a simple photograph of my pencil drawing. This is definitely a piece I would like to take further,a very feminine character! I will post here to share some of those pages of (sometimes smudged and often tattered) inspirations as an insight into my work as it evolves.....
